    Hello there!

So, I've got a funny story and a question for you. It'd be amazing if you could help me! Our tutor in Ancient Greek and Latin is from Spain and grew up with 222 biscuits (http://www.pekanbuku.net/components/...7353384507.jpg). Apparently they only still exist in Malaysia! Now his 50th birthday is coming up, and we'd like to get these biscuits for him. Do you have any idea how we can get hold of some?

Thank you incredibly much if you can help!
Oh I know what biscuit this is! I love snacking on the coffee flavoured one! I'd love to send you a pack, but I'm afraid that it'll get crushed during the delivery process Also, I can only find the coffee flavoured one in most supermarkets here - not sure whether they have the exact same one as shown in your picture.

Well if you're willing to wait until sept, I can bring them over for you
[EDIT] Whoops, just saw that your tutor's birthday is coming up. If there's a way to send those cookies without crushing it I will send it to you. It's not that expensive anyways.

Wow ! Actuarial Science is one of the hardest thing that I could understand. Numbers are not my friends, not in the past, present and never will be in the future. :X

I'm sure you'll be accepted. Cross our fingers.

I agree with that. I don't understand why Malaysians spend so much money to study overseas and then stick with what they know anyway. "comfort zone" is the common argument I've been given, but isn't the point of going overseas to get OUT of your comfort zone?

Exactly! I think I would prefer having people from different nations as my housemates! You can still keep in touch with your friends from the same country anyway! Most of them live nearby, if not the same university.

I want to see for myself the mentality of people from different cultures and nations. To me staying in my home country makes me feel like a 'katak di bawah tempurung'(Like frog underneath coconut shell,it's a proverb, direct translation?)

Well I was Born in KL, but my parents returned with me to London when I was only 1 1/2 so don't remember a thing about the country. I managed to visit about seven years ago and have to say that I wish my parents had stayed, I suspect that my recent interest in tropical gardening may owe an awful lot to that...

Anyway, hoping to get back to Malaysia again sometime, hopefully with my own kids as I'm sure they'd love it there. If I could stay for a couple of years that would be great as well...

Hello! Just found this forum which I think is brilliant!

Anyway, I'll be heading to Bristol for a MSc in Sept (provided I meet the condition of the offer! Stress!!). Just wondering if anyone can give me an idea of private accommodation around the uni? In terms of which are the dodgy areas, which too expensive etc? I'm looking at either a studio or 1BR place if possible (with proper kitchen, I like my cooking), no more than 30min walk from uni. No problems if further out as long as good access to public transport to uni that will get me there in 10-15mins.

Also, anywhere near places with good food would also be good (typical Malaysian when it comes to food! Even though I've been living overseas for a while now) And how long would one expect to take to secure private rental? 1 week enough? A friend in UK said to look at Gumtree, just need some ideas on which areas I should be looking at. Clifton, while nice, seemed very expensive.

Any advise would be much appreciated!

    Many thanks!!
