The College of Law Bloomsbury Vs Moorgate

Hi all,

I know there have been numerous threads similar to the one I am posting now, but they are kind of outdated and don't necessarily answer the question.
I have applied for the College of Law and am questioning whether to apply to the London Bloomsbury centre or London Moorgate.

I want to take the corporate/commercial route, and have heard that Moorgate is better suited for that. However, I also heard that the Moorgate centre tends to take on students who have already obtained training contracts. I have not yet secured a TC.

If I apply to the London Bloomsbury centre, would that hinder my chances of working for the big large city firms? Surely it shouldn't matter, but I need answers! Thank you! :colondollar:
Hi jasmeister

Great to hear you're applying to the College!

From September onwards, you will be able to study our LL.M Legal Practice Course at London Moorgate and London Bloomsbury centres, which allows you to gain a fully-accredited LPC as well as a Masters qualification. You will not be required to choose a route ie corporate/commercial, but you can specialise in this area through our unrivalled choice of 18 electives. Here's a link to more info about the course: http://www.college-of-law.co.uk/LPC/

Your choice of centre is really up to you, however if you are looking to work in a corporate firm, you may find that our London Moorgate centre will suit you better and you will have more direct links to students who have already secured a training contract in a top city law firm. Having said this, studying at our London Bloomsbury centre will not hinder your chances of gaining a training contract, and you will have access to our excellent careers service for expert help and advice.

Hello,

If you wanted to pursue a career as an intellectual property lawyer, would it be better to study at Moorgate or study at Bloomsbury and select IP law as an elective?

Thanks you
it makes no difference at all which branch you attend - this applies to both queries
