half angle has often appeared in c4 not c3 in the past papers so wonder if they would give a question about it this time around.:eek:

I was doing Solomon papers and there were couple of half angle questions but I guess they are the tougher version of the normal paper. Hopefully it doesn't come up
Are there any proofs we need to know?
So I just woke up thinking this was a morning exam... To check with the edexcel website and find that its an afternoon exam! Can anyone else confirm this? I'm a retake candidate so don't know anyone else taking the exam... Such an idiot haha

Hi, the exam is in the afternoon. Ours is at 3 o'clock
between -180<x<180 will sin positive ?

in quadrants if you are dealing with negative like -9-, -180 you do backwards right

and between 0-270 for example tan will be positive and sin will be positive right

Between 0 and 180 sin is positive. Between 0 and 90 and between 180 and 270 tan is positive

How many marks do you reckon I can drop to still get 90 UMS? What has the range been over the years?

Definitely no more than 5...

If the exam is easier than usual which I doubt...

grade boundaries could be as high as 73 for 90 UMS
Do we need to know how to proof for Sin (A+B) and Cos (A+B)
Can differentiate cot(x) ... by making it equal to cos(x)/sin(x)

How about if I make it equal [tan(x)]^-1
and I differentiate that...

Also how would I differentiate cosec and sec ??

Thanks in advance

You mean double angle formula ?
I really don't think so.

but factor formulae proof may come up

Guys when it comes to the quotient rule and say v = (x+3)^6

What would v^2 be? What's the rule for doing a power of a power? Thanks
there was arcsinx stuff in june right?
hopefully that means none today xD
