The Student Room Group

Student Finance HELP please!

I'm a current second year student, and I live locally, so I commute, but I was considering moving into student accommodation for my third year, however, I was wondering, because I live locally, am I still entitled to the full loan (I get the full grant too) for living in student accommodation outside of london or do I get less because I live within 30 miles of my university? I dont want to commit to accommodation and find out that I cant actually afford it...

Someone please respond, as I have a limited time before I have to commit to the accommodation :frown:

Thanks in advance

There is no minimum limit in terms of distance. You must just live elsewhere during term time. My sister moved out of our parents home to live in a student house. She managed to get extra loan.
