Oh ok lol cool. Someone on here said somethin about having to pay for freshers week themselves? What do you pay for??
Well just bring money for drink if you're going to drink, money for fodd, money for societies etc. Bring as little or as much as you like!
Alcohol, socialising etc...

It's not really anything. It's just a week in which you all move in and you have no lectures. All I did was get drunk with my new freinds all week, didn't join any clubs/societies and just screwed about for a week...

Has that changed much as they year's gone by? :p:
Freshers week is a week you spend at university without actually learning anything. it's quite hectic, since it serves two purposes:

1.) Inductions to your courses, choosing courses, enrolment, registration etc

2.) Excessive drinking.

My tip is to make sureyou have plenty of meals that you can make in about five minutes (pot noodles and the like) simply because I found in freshers week that when I wasn't doing one thing, I was doing something else.

Its all about fun. Forget the societies etc...That stuff can wait. You will make friends in freshers week that will be with you for the rest of your life.

Just don't go overboard and make a fool of yourself. Oh wait...scrap that, go mental.

Some students' unions organise a lot of events over that week - bands, clubnights, that sort of thing. Some charge to attend and occasionally give out a sort of ticket for the week.

But yes, I blew about £200+ over my Freshers week (which actually carried on to at least 12 days) on drinking and other completely stupid expenses. But it was memorable... or at least would be had I any remaining memory of most of it.

A week of endless binging. Unless you're an unsociable loser. Like myself.
My fresher's Week lasted three days. Well, two, actually.

It all depends on the uni, some let you have longer, others arrange meetings, classes and essay assignemnts early. Arrive Saturday, meet lots of people, go out, Sunday, meet more, have a meal with a load of new friends, stay in and drink, monday- ditto, Tuesday: Meet tutor, get given first essay assignment. Wednesday morning, first lecture, and far less drinking after that!

We had to matriculate during Freshers' Week, which was a bloody disgrace in my opinion.

We were also 'expected' to attend a thing vaguely resembling a school assembly... except with the Lord Provost of the city, the VC, the Rector etc, lots of men in funny outfits carrying maces, speeches and people wearing gowns. Load of ****e it was, started at 10am too... and I ended up rolling in late with a hangover.

Got some free pens at the end, which went some way towards making up for this affront to my par-taying.
Girls be careful in freshers week, there are lots of predatory 2nd year guys around who have 'f ** k a fresher' competitions to see how many fresher girls they can sleep with.
I can't wait for freshers week =D
