Asymptotes - hehe

The other thread got me remembering a problem I had a couple of days ago - it was finding the horizontal asymptote. Usually the equations are simple enought that I can just 'see' what its going to be, but I dont have a method for when I can't tell by just looking. Could anyone explain to me a standard way of finding the horzontal asymptote?

Thank youuu

Divide the top by the bottom and you should (for the questions you're referring to) get a+b/(cx+d). The horizontal asymptote is y=a.
