Anyone had uveitis or iritis?

Anyone here had uveitis or iritis?

Got uveitis in my right eye back in July and since then I've been in and out of hospital. Still on steroids six months on, would be great to chat to anyone else who has had either of these conditions!

You have my sympathies. One of my uncles has it, was treated over the summer and now it has flared up again. He has been on Timolol, Maxidex, Minims and Latanoprost. Been taking him to hospital, seeing other people with problems with their eyes had made me cry.

Common problem. Have you got uveitis on its own, or are you on treatment for childhood arthritis?

Thanks! I guess I'm lucky, I've only had to take one type of medicine for it (Pred Forte) and my eye has responded well - had two very minor flare-ups since the major flare-up last July and both were sorted within days.

Just got uveitis by itself, out of nowhere I just got a random (severe) flare-up. Definitely haven't had arthritis or any serious health conditions before. In fact I'd never been into a hospital before my first flare-up in July

I feel your pain... I've had juvenile arthritis since I was 3 with uveitis as well.. been on steroids fir over 10 years now but they seem to be doing the trick  It's a tough time though and I'd be more than happy to chat to you with any concerns you may have

I had Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis for several years (though it's been gone for a couple of years now) and I've gotten Iritis flare-ups from time to time. It's only ever been a problem the time I let it get out of hand before I went to the eye infirmary, on which occasion it hurt like hell. Otherwise, though, I just take the eyedrops and it goes away fairly quicly with no trouble.

I'm sorry, I don't have any experience with iritis. I think you need to call your specialist ASAP With auto-immune diseases the quicker they can halt a flare up the better. <hugs>
