Cardiff Glamorgan (and other Media courses)

Hi guys, I'm considering applying for Media, Culture and Journalism at Cardiff Glamorgan Uni however, the course seems to be quite new so I'm a bit unsure wether to go for it or not, might not be established and might lack the expertise maybe.. On the website it also says the course is rather theoretical which I'm not sure it's the best for me. However I'm really tempted because of the reputation of the city as people say it's a great place to stay! Any ideas? Where else do you think is good place to study media (preferably with communication or journalism)? I'm also applying to Glasgow Caledonian, Southampton Solent, Liverpool John Moores..
And can't make up my mind about Greenwich Uni because of cost of living, Birmingham City because of the criminal reputation of the city and Bath Spa because of some negative reviews I can't get out of my mind, lol.
