Box Plots

Hello

I'm doing some homework for GCSE maths, and a question I'm stuck on is:

"This box plot gives information about the distribution of the weights of bags on a plane

Minimum value: 5
Lower quartile: 10
Median: 17
Upper quartile: 23
Maximum value: 29
IQR: 13kg

The bit that's got me stuck is:

"There are 240 bags on the plane.

Work out the number of bags with a weight of 10kg or less."

I have found another thread with this question, but it just gave the answer which isn't much help, I need to know how to work it out for myself!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

*Just to warn you, I'm terrible at math so please keep it as simple as possible!*

Thanks!!
The lower quartile is one quarter of the way into the distribution. As the LQ = 10kg, one quarter of the bags have a weight of 10kg or less.

Oh OK! So I just need to work out a quarter of 240?

Yes.

The lower quartile is one quarter of the way into the distribution.

The median is halfway.

The upper quartile is three quarters of the way.
