They're completely different syllabuses (syllabi?). I think 21st Century is more 'How Science Works' stuff whereas Gateway is more of a traditional science course. I did Gateway and I thought it was quite good; the syllabus was in depth and the later modules in separate sciences were good preparation for the early AS-level stuff. the only bad thing about it is the coursework really. (Science in the News).

On my GCSE ocr 21st century science
I got:
b1 c1 p1 - b
b2 c2 p2 - a
b3 c3 p3 - a*
ideas - b
coursework (but i only have the mark for the case study) b

i dont know if this makes any difference but my a was 1 mark off an a* and one of my bs was 1 mark off an a

how can I work it out
Dont i need to know my data analysis grade aswell for coursework?

You would need percentage scores and weightings of each paper to work out the UMS (if that's how it works).
