Difference between BSc and MEng in relation to postgraduate?

Hi guys!

I have applied an received an offer to do a MEng computer science degree at university, but now it feels like I've made a mistake. The thing is that I am planning to continue to postgraduate, and I do not know whether the MEng degree will help me in any way in getting into a postgraduate course. I mean, if you only need a bachelor's degree to apply for a postgraduate, the MEng degree will be a waste of time. Am I right or am I wrong? Or are there some details which I missed?

As I understand it, the MEng is a step up from a Bachelor's degree, although it can vary between universities. It should be an advantage to progressing further in academia, rather than a block. What sort of postgraduate course were you considering? It should be easy to check entry requirements on the web and if an MEng isn't mentioned, you could email the uni(s) and double-check.

See if you can unpick the UK entry here - it might help (or it might just confuse further!):
