It's your use of the quadratic formula, by itself.
Suppose you had 2x^2-6x+4 i.e 2 times (x^2-3x+2)
Use of the quadratic formula would give x=2 or x=1, but your quadratic is not (x-2)(x-1)
You need to multiply by the coeff. of x^2.
