How did you manage that, did it just shatter? I dropped mine on a laminate floor but it just made a loud bang. How high did you drop it from? Can you get the screens fixed?

I dropped it face flat on the floor. It fell a couple of feet. I got quoted £80 for a screen repair though.I would like to do it myself but I would be worried in case I damaged it.

If it's anything like repairing the front screen of an iPhone it's not the easiest job. My Dad knows his way around a toolkit and he says they're a pain in the rear, particularly if you when trying to replace the glass, damage the inside screen which despite sounding ridiculous, is quite easily done.

For iPhone's you need magnetic screwdrivers too, not sure if it's the same on iPad but they're quite a specialist bit of kit.

I will just pay to get it repaired. I had a look at some youtube videos on repairing the ipad but I suppose its not worth it.Like you say, you would need the tools which will probably be quite expensive and the fact that its pretty fragile.

In a way your lucky you can get it repaired but its annoying how easy the screens can shatter. But it doesn't look as bad as I thought it might haha

my iphone 3gs blew up a few weeks ago when I charged it, never using a cheap cable again!

I broke my ipod touch, I cant remember if it was the screen or digitizer i broke, but I managed to replace it myself pretty easily. It is fiddly but if you don't rush then its not bad

Planning on buying a new battery to try fix my iphone too, ive already dismantled it all, but it was made easier by the screen flying off when the battery expanded! >_<
Not an iPad but I dropped my 4s on concrete when running for the bus, pocket height. It has a couple of minor scratches around the edge but otherwise you wouldn't know, I was lucky.

I've dropped my iPad off of the sofa & we have wooden floor but it didn't break or effect it badly x
