Not sure where to put this... ecology statistics?

So I have this statistics report to do, and I've always been sure of my null hypotheses but I kinda feel like it's a trick question and it should be harder than it is, I know it's probably not, but I just wanted to check and make sure I'm getting this right otherwise it's just silly easy marks that I could miss.

Ok so the first hypothesis is
"There was a positive relationship between the distance from the sea and the species abundance, richness and diversity"
So the null hyp. would be this, right?
"There was no positive relationship between the distance from the sea and the species abundance, richness and diversity"

I feel like this is too easy, if this is wrong please can someone help me out and let me know where I'm going wrong so I can do the rest with peace of mind?

Sounds good to me, I always feel null hypotheses are a bit too simple but it works.
Maybe a better one would be
'There is no significant relationship between the distance from the sea and the species abundance, richness and diversity'
