Mine wasn't long because all 4 people in my interview got in so they told us then and there, my official offer came only a couple days after but I don't know what the wait has been for others as they did say it could be a couple of weeks. Yeah the course does look pretty awesome! Will be interesting to study something a bit different (all my other options were for graphic design). Good luck though, I'm sure you'll get an offer!!

Well they said a couple of weeks but the official offer came in like a day or two after the interview. Congratulations! Do you think it's going to be your first choice?

Hey all, I have an interview on 20th and I am pretty nervous about it ! Can you write how it looked like? Did they ask about your statements (the main one and the 200 word one they asked for later) and did you talk in group interviews or just with goldsmith's teachers/tutors? Did they ask questions like: your favourite designer, what is design for you, exhibitions you went to and other this kind?

Thanks for any reply and congratulations to all of you who got in .

Hey Anna,
No reason to be nervous, was alright! Err they split us into 2 groups, some did a tour while the others were interviewed. They ask the obvious: why goldsmiths? Then get you to talk about a piece of your work from your portfolio. They were all friendly, nothing like an interrogation! Just be yourself and confident about your work I'm sure you'll ace it!!

Sorry. That wasn't very clear of me. I have level 3 qualifications but they are in music and audio engineering related areas. I've had some time out and have decided that music isn't something I want to study any further. Product and graphic design are subjects I've been interested in and have dipped my feet into and Id like to study the design BA at goldsmiths. I was wondering if any one else has had such luck getting on the course as a mature student with irrelevant prior study?

Oh well I'm not too sure but if you have a passion for the subject and you have some kind of portfolio then I don't see why you wouldn't be fine, if your applying next year why don't you try an access course or something to add to your portfolio?

I'm going to be going around Brazil in my year our so unfortunately I wouldn't have the time to do an extra course.

But I suppose I just need to get portfolio on top form.

Hey im sure you'll get an offer.. You can find me on Flickr if you search for Rachel mayes under people. However I don't think that will give you the best idea of what they're looking for as in my interview I came from specialising in graphics, another person was doing fine art, another was doing 3D. I think they're more looking at your ideas and processes no matter what background of art/design you come from. Hope that helps and isn't just me waffling on!! Good luck
