Do you think Oscar Pistorius is guilty of premeditated murder?

I've said it before and I'll say it again - I'm glad TSR isn't the real justice system.

I always thought people peed when they died anyway :dontknow: Loss of voluntary sphincter control and all that.

Yeah, but she had an empty bladder when she died, not when they found her...

How do you shoot someone 'accidentally' more than twice?

And there goes the case. The lead prosecutor is apparently scheduled in court in May on a 7 charges of attempted murder.

... The plot thickens.

He was also asked this morning if he'd prefer questions in his native language, Afrikaans, rather than English. He declined. I guess the fact he was answering questions in a second language yesterday may be a reason for his poor performance. I still suspect, however, he's an incompetent fool.

I think they had an argument about their relationship which was sparked by valentines day then maybe he hit her with the cricket bat so she locked herself in the bathroom and then he shot her.

Maybe, but is this really any more than speculation? A lot of people seem to have formed opinions about what happened, but I don't think many people who are closely involved with the trial even know much of what happened, let alone the rest of us.

As I side note, while he might have threatened her, I don't think it's very likely that he hit her with a cricket bat; that level of blunt force would have caused a fair bit of damage, and as far as I'm aware, that hasn't been mentioned at the hearing. After all, it would be key evidence, and essentially prove his guilt.

If he did shoot in blind self defence, surely he would have shot once, maybe twice, then realised it was his girlfriend? I feel like it's more personal because he shot her multiple times :/ whether it was entirely premeditated and thought out, I don't know but I definitely don't think it was a blind mistake.

Botha (the chief prosecuting investigator) has conceded the bat was not used to hit Reeva. He conceded that the blood on the bat came from the scene. The bat was used to break the door down (as per Pistorius's case) not to hurt Reeva (as per The Sun newspaper).

See above - the SA police seem to have cocked up over the 'steroids', which were actually a perfectly legal herbal remedy. The unlicensed gun may be to do with the massive crime rate in the country, and the feeling of necessity to protect his home; as to why it was unlicensed, I'm unsure (although the reason may have been explained). One of the big themes of the case was the claim that arguing, shouting and screaming had been heard at the house. However, it seems that the 'witness' to this was actually about 600 metres away, which makes his evidence effectively useless, unless he happened to be using specialist listening equipment at the time...

Ah sorry! I think I need to catchup a bit on the news...
even if he is guilty, he'll most likely get away with it due to the ridiculously amateur investigation. People moan about the british legal system...

I think he will end up being charged with culpable homicide, too much vested interest and not the right friends in the right places to get away Scot free.

Also the perfect 'politically correct' target, to demonstrate 'equality' in the legal system and that 'disabled' people are held to the law of the land as well.
Who thinks he will/wont be granted bail?

I think it's looking likely that he might because of the line of questioning yesterday, though the prosecution still has an hour tomorrow to make their case

I heard that Botha was accused of murdering a number of people himself? :s-smilie:....a bit dodgy that he is responsible leading such a case :s-smilie:

yeah he'll still get charged, i meant getting away with killing his girlfriend on purpose/getting bail. Botha has made himself look a mug.

Ah I see.

All I can say is at least he is showing his true colours.

To be heard a decade in a South African jail with others charged with serious crimes is little better than a life sentence. So he will get his cuppence whether it be for intent or stupidity.

I don't see how he's a flight risk. He's one of the most recognisable people in South Africa and if they did grant him bail they would probably keep a close eye on him anyway.

The magistrate even said yesterday that it would be highly unlikely for him to try and run.

I think he should get bail, and I think he will get bail.
The amount of false rumour and media hype around this reminds me of the Michael Jackson case. Atleast the the truth seems to be coming out relatively early in this one.

I think he will be cleared

not necessarily , accused doesn't mean guilty . So the fact that he is still leading must suggest that those accusations were nothing but that.

However this is the South African Police Service we are talking about , it's very possible they didn't investigate it and just let him continue leading the investigation.

I reckon though he will get bail , as its very difficult to become a flight risk when he doesn't really have any legs of his own... and the prosecution should never have charged him with premeditated murder they are never gonna get that - culpabal homicide would work fine though.

EDIT : Turns out Botha has been replaced. thank god for that
