For the love of God, NO. I never wanted to be a doctor, except when I was about 7 or something when you literally just want to do any job you know the name of. I don't like organs and I'm not a massive fan of other peoples blood, I wanted to be a dentist for a while then realised I preferred the idea of pharmacy and working with medicines. I want to help people but I don't want to be a doctor, pharmacy seemed like a good call. Although on Friday I had a placement in a community pharmacy and they said being a doctor was more money for less hassle. Also, considering that if a patient is harmed we get equally blamed shows that pharmacist has a pretty significant role, it's our job to make sure the doctor's don't fudge up and they're not trying to give a patient a dosage that is completely unsafe, or giving them two medicines that might interact, or taking OTC medicines or herbal remedies that might interact. Pharmacists in hospitals can specialise in a similar way to doctors, you could go into radiopharmacy or oncology, chemotherapy drugs are extremely complex, they've got to be tailored for the patient.
I am so fed up of people suggesting that I'm doing pharmacy because I didn't get into medicine. Loads of my friends applied for pharmacy without applying for medicine at all, they're not the same career.
