Hm, I was just wondering whether 'fictional' languages are counted as languages here as well. e.g tolkein elvish? :p:

Hmmm... French or maybe even German? Tolkien elvish is so cool! Got an internet course to learn it myself, but never actually started learning it. :frown:

Oh, I've to watch the film again- even though there's not as much Elvish as you might wish.

Only few were written in English, all the other were in French or German... Which is not a problem, coz I understang French and German... I understand Polish and English too, but please no requests in: Chinese, Duch, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Russian, Vietnamese, Tibetan, Czech, Latin, Greek, and any other language which is not German, French, English or Polish :biggrin:

Ja, ich habe Deutsch benutzt, aber nur weil meine mündliche Deutschprüfung war am Freitag. Es ist komisch, weil ich mich viel fließender nach meine Prüfung als vorher fühle. Wie sagt man "It kind of sucks" auf Deutsch? :wink:

Hehe. Well, I assume I'll be around here quite often for the next weeks (my friends are all going on holidays), so I could do it.

Why won't you have internet if I might ask? Holiday trips or anything exciting like that?

First I'm going to Germany (MUN). Than I've 1.5 months free but I was thinking about going to Taize or as an aupair or dunno... And than... sailing for 2 weeks and lying on the beach in Greece for 1 week... :biggrin:

Well, Sir Esh, I think a language is a language, so why should Elvish be something different? Few years ago I was learning Elvish myself :smile:

Tho I didn't know any words (well I knew 'mellon', but I assume everyone who has read Tolkien knows it) but I used the alphabet :biggrin:

Really funny, but it takes so much time to write in it... But now I switched from Elvish to Japanese lol!

That sounds so great-especially the sailing. I'll stay at home the whole summer I'm afraid. I'll work part-time for some weeks and I hope to do some weekend-trips to some of the bigger German cities/ the cost.

Salut! Je souhaite qu'on m'ajoute a la société de langues. J'apprends le Francais depuis 7 ans et je peux le parler couramment jusqu'un tel point. J'apprends le Japonais aussi, depuis 3 ans, et j'espere poursuivre les etudes de Japonais et Coréenne a l'université.

イギリスに日本語を話せる人は、他の言語と比べると珍しいなので、日本語を勉強したかったです。日本語は、ヨーロッパの考え方と全く違うので、私は、自分で日本の文法や話し方や単語を学び始めたかった。韓国語を習い始めて、単語は、よく違っても、文法と言葉の関係は、よく似ています。ハングルも本当に覚えやすいです。今ハングルを使うことが出来ます。でも、習わなければならない漢字がいつも沢山あります。言語の勉強の一番面白い点は、他の伝え方と考え方を経験することです。言語を習うことは、本当に、「経験」ですね！

Yeah, I thought about working myself, but there are so few good jobs (jobs that would be worth not enjouying my vacation). I thought about being a VIP Hostess at the WM, but I need experience for that, which I obviously don't have... What will you do for a job?

Hi, Eien! Can you tell me how fluent you're with Japanese? Its very probably I'll start Japanese this year and I was wondering how good I'll be after my Undergraduate (assuming, that I'll really learn it :smile:

As I have pointed out earlier: I'd love to learn a East Asien language, but it seems to be so incredibly difficult if you don't put all your efforts in! Anyway, 2 years of not practicing a language is a really long time. I doubt that I'd be able to speek a word English if I dropped it 2 years ago. Weird, that you don't seem to lose your ability to understand it though.

C'est encore plus exotique que les langues d'Eien. Très intéressant. C'est quoi que fascinez-vous de ces langues?

Et je suis tellement sure qu'on ne doit pas utiliser le subjonctif après espérer que. Unless I'm not getting evilly confused over it with Spanish atm.

Darf ich bitte Deutsch benutzen? Es wäre einfacher für mich, obwohl ich nicht weiß, warum es so ist. Ich habe Nepalesisch gewählt, weil es eine der größten Sprachdichten in der Welt hat. Das ist wichtig für mich wegen meines Karriereplans - ich möchte linguistische Primärehebung machen, undokmentierte Sprachen dokumentieren, usw., und ich denke, dass Nepal vielleicht ein der besten Länder wäre, indem ich es tun könnte.

Entschuldigung für die viele Fehler, die ich wahrscheinlich in diesem Absatz gemacht habe.

Und eine "richtige" Sprachforscherkarriere: mutig, mutig. Denkst du nicht, dass arbeiten für eine Firma als Übersetzer oder als Leiter einer Tochterfirma einfacher wäre? Nur so gefragt, ich bewundere solche Pläne zutiefst.

Ciao ragazzi!

Sono nella biblioteca ora, perché oggi ho un esame d'italiano! Spero che sia facile - almeno più facile che l'esame di spagnolo che ho fatto questa mattina.

Argh, non posso pensare in italiano, penso solo in spagnolo in momento. Allora, devo pensare solamente in italiano finché ho finito il mio esame.
