Hello! This is the place to ask the Labour Party questions, or sign up yourself which you can do by clicking here. Your questions can be about policy goals, or legislation we've already implemented; alternatively you can just say hello or ask us how we're doing! If you're here for slightly more specific information, this thread also has our Leadership/MP List and our Current Manifesto for you to check out.

Because we try to reply to questions as quickly as possible, many of the answers will be the personal opinions of Labour MPs and not necessarily the party line. If you want that, you'll have to be a little more patient as if you raise a really interesting issue we hadn't thought of, we'll need to discuss it first!

Labour formed a Model House of Commons government in the face of savage cuts and a triple-dip recession. We've started the long road to recovery - and with your vote, we can reach the end of it.

Last election, you made us the largest party in the Commons, and we abolished pointless police commissioner elections, reformed the banking system to avoid more crashes, and created a more even platform between employers and employees. Here's what we aim to do this time:

• Continue to focus on massive infrastructure profits designed to kickstart the economy and bring jobs to the whole country.
• Create a new generation of better hospitals, safe from private hands.
• Stop unpaid work-for-benefit schemes. Forced labour should never be labour.
• Establish a tough new independent press regulator to reduce the excesses of the press.
• Reintroduce an EMA system, to ensure that people who want to learn can - regardless of class.
• Nationalise rail and bus links to provide an integrated outfit that serves both rural and urban communities.
• Institute a pacifist foreign policy, which uses military action for defense and UN-sanctioned missions alone.
• Equip schools to offer sciences and computing, to give the next generation the future.

2. Define totalitarian.

why does GB say taxes are down when everyone who was on 10p rate will now be on the 20p rate? In what way have taxes been reduced?

Well, Bernard, I don't like the Tories much. There are specific Tories who I do like, but not when they're spreading their politics about.

A totalitarian is that of or relevant to a centralised government that refuses to tolerate opposing parties. A totalitarian state exercises dictatorial control over the country.

Economics is not my strong point, being an eighteen year old with no training in the field. I'm going to leave this question on pending for one of our lot who knows better than I do. You're not being ignored. Also, please bear in mind that this thread is for discussion of the TSR Labour Party. Although I'm sure that we're more than willing to answer questions about them as well.

1. Well personally I dislike polarising any party, a healthy person has a varied view depending on the topic at hand.

2. A concentrated government without checks or balance. A regime that exercises authority via underhanded tactics, secret police etc.

However I'm rather new to politics as a whole, so try to take what I say with a measure of salt.

Labour has bashed itself so hard over the head recently. I support them still because they're the only people decent enough to support but they make it hard for themelves.

I'm inclined to agree with this, if we're talking about the real life Labour Party. However, this thread is for the TSR Labour Party, which is more left-wing than the real life lot.

You said you can never be too left wing. We're far more left wing than Labour.

With regards to China: I'm a socialist and I wrote a bill trying to enforce human rights around the world (I assume that's your problem with China).
