lmao yes ofc

Haha thanks
The New Deal is pretty straight forward, I learnt it in one day... You should go over if, if that's the case. Does anyone have any sample questions that could come up? Good luck in the exam guys

my teacher gave us two example questions on the new deal:

Explain why FDR faced opposition to the Second New Deal.

How important was WWII in stabilising the economy? (Has a new deal element to it:smile:)
any others for question 1 and 2

any others for question 1 and 2

1. Explain why Woodrow Wilson failed in getting the USA into the League of Nations. (12 marks)
2. How important was Theodore Roosevelt in expanding the influence of the USA in the years 1900-1908? (24 marks)

why did he fail :/

why did he fail :/

1. Complex negotiations with the Big Four
2. Didn't have support at home (e.g. Borah's speech in 1919)
3. Spent more time sorting out territory disputes
The new deal;
If you look on aqa past papers and find the mark scheme for the questions related with the new deal (sometimes don't have it in the question eg how successful was fdr in bringing around recovery- but clearly new deal question) the mark schemes have the factors students might include and though the questions are worded diffrently they want the same content
How many factors should we use for a 12 and 24 marker? not 100% sure

This seems like a silly question but what does 'influence' mean in these cases? is it like imperialism and expansion through foreign policy? :s-smilie:

I believe so
Could we get questions on re-elections? e.g. Explain why TR was reelected in 1904.
There hasn't been any.. Only why was the republican party dominant in the 1920s but there's like 2 pages on that in the book.. Why was he even re-elected? Haha I just assumed it was popularity with the spanish- american war rough rides and with workers and his personality maybe pamana canal.. And guessing that's not correct haha
Oh dear :/

Yeah three factors all linking TR. I'd assume that's right. I am making a list of every election (not relections) and why the victor won, etc. I think it's about time we got an election question. We haven't since Jan 2011
I might do that now too.. Would you say the main one's are wilson, harding and fdr?
Would there even be enough to write about taft, coolidge, hoover.. and the other lot aha

Not really, but there are probably 3 factors for each. McKinley has come up before in an indirect question

3 for Taft: 1) Roosevelt hand-picked Taft. 2) Bryan wasn't as driven as before. 3) Bryan said he'd carry on TR's policies but talked about socialisation of the railroads.

3 for and 3 against. Although our teacher said we can do 4 if they're detailed.
