Re: The TSR Bangladeshi SocietyAha yeaah, iA if i save up enough money, I might just go abroad to learn for a few months or something, it's cheaper to learn in arab speaking countries apparently(Original post by hidden_desire)
Haha, Arabic is a pretty hard language to teach yourself lol, you should get someone to help you along! But yeah, Arabic calligraphy is beautiful! Have to learn to do that someday
Results come out 18th August - we get ours emailed to us at 6am, so I'll probably be up most of the night praying and worrying lmao. My back up was Bradford Uni to do Clinical Sciences, but I'm not too keen on the course or the uni anymore LOL. I'll probs just go into Clearing if I don't get into St George's tbh.
Hehe, aww bless. I'm pretty much scared of most things too tbh. I hate looking into mirrors or out the windows at night because I'm afraid something will pop up, like a severed head or something. Bad times :P
oooh, My Birthday
I remember I didn't even sleep the day I had to see if I got into Uni
Awh..lmao. Stick to Med! It's what you wanna do innit
iA you get in
Prayers are with you
LOLLL
you watch too many horror films!! I don't want any, simply because I start imagining things and actually believe what I see

Re: The TSR Bangladeshi SocietyWhat do you mean by that?(Original post by Mauryan)
how many people knows the difference between bangla and sylheti? -
Re: The TSR Bangladeshi SocietyI think most people here actually speak sylheti but think they speak bengali and no its not the same(Original post by zxh800)
What do you mean by that? -
Re: The TSR Bangladeshi SocietyLOOL, I totally understand. I speak both, but I learnt Sylheti in primary school as literally 90% of the kids there were Bangladeshi (all from Sylhet). Although, I'm a bit rusty now (Sylheti wise as I speak Bangla at home with my parents).(Original post by Mauryan)

Re: The TSR Bangladeshi Society(Original post by humble_bumble)
Aw, indeed. I was so pleased with all my photos when we returned from there.
And I dont mind the lifestyle there tbh, nice and chilled, and I actually loved having to walk everywhere and be active. xD
Awh loll, we met a really nice family a day into our stay, very randomly, we walked into their florist, and bam my dad and the man became brothers
lool. But I have never ever met such nice people in my life and I don't think I ever will! May Allah give them all the happiness. And they spoke Italian, and I found that so cool. Hahahah.
Does the place remind you of BD? My parents say it did, but I don't see it.
Awh yes, it's on Monday
I've been preparing for it past few days, literally have one meal a day now, and not really fussed about the eating business. And slowly working on the soul side and religious part. iA It goes well
Can't wait
Yeah definitely agree with you, the weather was beautiful too so no complaints from me. Can't wait to go back there again, but I'll probably visit some other countries first before I go back to Rome lol. I can't say it did feel like 'desh to be honest, felt like... Italy LOL
I know what you mean about meeting other Bengali people that you've never seen before and you suddenly become friends, my mum randomly started talking to a Bengali woman on the plane, the woman actually gave her number to my mum to keep in touch haha.
You've been preparing for Ramadan? Eating one meal a day is actually really bad, or was it for health reasons or something :s
You know, sometimes the arguements use to get physical. They wouldn't even sit next to each other(Original post by hidden_desire)
Haha, whilst I know that GCSE Bengali exists, I know very few who've done it, you see. And lmao, those arguments and debates always go on!
ROME?! Wow, that's pretty lucky
I've still yet to go on a decent holiday. And with little money in my pocket, I doubt that's going to happen any time soon lol. How was it?
Ahh, the highlight of my summer sounds pretty lame compared to your's LOL. Went to London for a week, as a family and basically visited all the tourist attractions and that. I actually enjoyed it a lot though!
. Good times though.
Rome is magnificent, I'd recommend it to anyone! Can't wait to go back. London is cool, what places did you see there? Oh and did you visit East London as well? :P -
Re: The TSR Bangladeshi SocietyHaha yeaah I know, my parents are still in touch with the family till they lost the number..(Original post by hafa)

Re: The TSR Bangladeshi SocietyDamn, only 1 meal a day though :| I guess you're going to find fasting pretty ok then. I'm not looking forward to the first few days to be honest, it's going to be hard adjusting. I'm feeling quite hungry just by thinking about tomorrow LOL.(Original post by humble_bumble)

LMAO. typical :P Yeah first few days will be a little hard, but iA it goes smoothly. I tend to keep my fasts without sehri, which is terrible tbh. I need to fix that habit, it's not good. -
Re: The TSR Bangladeshi SocietyWow really?! I'd LOVE to go to an Arab country - Egypt or Saudi preferably - TAKE ME, TAKE MEE!(Original post by humble_bumble)

Aaah Landaaaan. Well seeing at it was our first time there properly, we acted like proper tourists and visited Madame Tussauds, ZSL Zoo, the museums, Buckingham Palace, Houses of Parliament, blah blahh. And yeah, we stayed at a family - friend's house in East London - we were literally 2 minutes away from Green Street, so that was cool

Re: The TSR Bangladeshi SocietyI find that when I keep myself busy in something, my day goes quicker and you won't realise hunger.(Original post by hafa)
How's Ramadan going for everyone else? I'm starving there's still ages left! I got a habit of not waking up for sehri, feel physically sick if I eat food that early in the morning :/
I didn't feel hungry at all yesterday, I feel a little thirst atm though, it's quite stuffy and humid/ hot down south -.-
I don't sleep until Fajr
, but if I did sleep and wake up for sehri, I wouldn't eat, it does make one feel sick -.-

Re: The TSR Bangladeshi SocietyMe thinks you're the one with dirty feet. Jog on.(Original post by Jamjar)
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm....so this is where you Bengali immigrants meet to discuss sedition. Now roll up your carpets, pack your bags and go back to Calcutta. Don't spoil the green and pleasant land that is England with your dirty feet! -
Re: The TSR Bangladeshi SocietyI remember I watched grudge before an Exam, during I think my GCSE's (omg that was soo many years ago(Original post by hidden_desire)

I'm old
rofl. And I remember sitting in the exam, thinking there's a hand coming out of my head, so I kept on touching my head. And our school was an old school, and we were taking the exam in a theatre hall, and the floors were creaking... Yeah all the girls who watched it were petrified as well
good ol' times
and I didn't sleep that night. Scary stuff! LOL
Keep me in your duaas people!
