I did a mock on these questions...I think they were like this: How are ideas and feelings presented in 'The Horse Whisperer' and one other poem? and How is an interesting character presented in 'Singh Song' and one other poem? Hope that helped

Which poems (from character and voice) and indeed which short stories from the AQA Anthology do you think will come up?

Yep it was 'How is the title significant in The darkness out there?' and 'How does the author present families in Anil?' I think that was it...

Just in case anyone's wondering, here's a list of the Sunlight on the Grass stories that have come up in the past (higher tier). In this order (first to most recent):

Compass and Torch (father/son relationship)

Anil (opening)

The Darkness Out There (unpleasant experience)

My Polish Teacher's Tie (Carla - narrator)

Something Old, Something New (families)

When the Wasps Drowned (ending)

Compass and Torch (boy)

On Seeing the 100% Perfect Girl One Beautiful April Morning (feelings)

The Darkness Out There (title)

Anil (families)

I have a nasty feeling that Something Old, Something New will come up on the higher tier, which I really really hate... but hopefully My Polish Teacher's Tie will be there too? :colone:
What do you guys think the stories will be this year?

i'm soooooo nervous for this exam as well :frown: any tips for revision??

It's kind of easier for poetry as you can examine techniques, but I've just been analysing the stories, picking out the main themes and seeing how they're LINKED in the story, by weather, a character and their possibly changing persona, a flash back, animals, items etc. This can also be done in the language used in scenery such as the star in Anil making him seem unique and special. I can't really say much though as my English teacher isn't the best, but I hope it helped.

Cool list, thank you! Yeah I don't want Something old something new to come up either :frown: I find my Polish Teacher's tie ok  I think Something old, Something new, My polish teacher's tie, or on seeing the 100% perfect Girl will come up...But I really want the Darkness or Compass or Wasps! :frown:

English literature is too hard...

It's so illogical? Des anyone else think this?

Like, Steinbeck called Curley, Curley because he wanted to!

I think Polish Teacher's Tie is my favourite so I'd be glad if it comes up and I actually kinda like Compass and Torch. I expect either Something Old, Something New or 100% Perfect Girl will come up though and I find those two really hard to understand.

If it's a choice in the exam between two of either 100% Perfect Girl, The Darkness or Something Old... I think I will cry.

Same here :frown: I don't mind Darkness too much though. I really want Polish teacher's tie, Wasps Drowned, or Compass and Torch...but it seems unlikely
