Buss4 help with section B

So, i don't know what to do for the section b part of the exam. So far all i have been doing is revising random topics to great detail but now i'm thinking if i should just print out previous research themes and just do them in detail so i would have a load of knowledge also i don't know how to structure my answers on corporate culture like here a example

The question was 'Does the organisational culture of a business always deteriorate as it gets bigger'

First i start defining culture and list of brief types of culture on handy's stuff.

To implement culture throughout the firm, a inspirational leader is needed. Accodtding to schien 'the only thing of real importance leaders do is create and mange culture'. A good leader is needed so that culture doesn't deteriorate. Kamprad (ikea) is a good example of such a leader, he is charismatic and innovative. He created a family orientated culture through his values and beliefs because of this he was able to create a strong culture with a clear set of values, mission and goals. To maintain this culture kamprad created a culture centered around their internal customer's ' employees' which made them believe they were bigger than the IKEA itself which became part of the paradigm's rituals and routines. Therefore, this helped to successfully implement culture throughout their stores nationally and internally allowing them to maintain a consistent behaviour leading to a strong culture which hasn't ran into any problems since its founding.

is this how you are suppose to write it? i have know idea.. i got a c and b in As but as soon as A2 hit i got a u

For section B, you need atleast 3-4 real business examples to talk about in every single chapter. But remember to use them only to back up your point and not to answer the question. (I did that mistake last summer and got a D, but in January i got a mark of an A following that structure above). Also, it's important after each paragraph to reiterate/evaluate what you've written and what relevance it had to to question. Use hooks such as ''It depends upon'' when evaluating also.

Do you possibly have your last year notes on you? i'm really struggling with section B, all i have is on emerging market and of that there is only two examples.

Also you know the structure you gave me? can it be also used for unit 3. Where it goes 1 2 3 5 4? 5=case study?

The structure was really helpful went from like 8 sentences per paragraph to over 20. It was 3/4 of a page per point and i could only write 2 within the 50 minutes, NEED to work on speed...how many paragraphs you suggests for the whole essay? and i always start of with defining culture then mention the handy stuff

That's my BUSS4 folder. It has all my notes and there are really good notes for Section B in there somewhere. Just snoop around and im sure you'll find it very useful. Also, there are loads of business examples in there for each chapter for Section B. But remember, my research task was emerging markets so i will have notes for that and not the new one.

Well, for my BUSS4 exam i wrote **** loads for Section A and two pages for Section B (Because nothing i revised came up lol), and still got a mark off an A. I'm not sure how much you got to write but just remember to use case studies to back your point and not to answer the question directly.

That has basically saved me from failing, now all i have to do is learn the topics in the book in pretty much close to a month...thanks to you + my own research, got examples for everything and anything :biggrin:

I'm not entirely sure, but I doubt that ethics will come up (which is fantastic) as a direct question was asked on ethics in January
