ive seen that microlink have ai live which listens to the lecture and someone on the other end transcribes it giving a subtitles on ipad or laptop. it also apprently allows you to have a transcription at the end of te lecture. has anyone got this and is it good.

also whats the difference between sfe and nhs dsa. ive only seen that nhs pays it into your bank and ive heard you get the equipment on sfe without having to have the money in your bank.

Ai Live type systems are so expensive (something like £60 per hour per user) that they are only agreed in certain disability related circumstances such as hearing impairment. It is unlikely it would be supported for a user with learning differences. There is a similar system from Bee Communications which is very effective.

SFE are the funding body for uni students who live in England, while students who study via, or are employed by the NHS access a separate DSA system run by the NHS, and yes they do pay direct to the student and expect them to purchase their own equipment and manage their own support, etc. It makes for a very complex system and put a lot of extra strain on the student. The SFE system means that they will deal with all the invoices etc for you.

I'm on a NHs program so might have to buy my own.
