I thought it went pretty dreadful. Not enough time and all of us had left revision to last night as we were busy and worried about out English exams the day before. Didn't have a clue of what to write for the 6 marker.. What did you all put?

You won't get 0 marks as you get marks on analysis and stuff, don't worry you should of got 4 maybe 5 which isn't all that bad. What is you current grade?

I just got an A in unit 1.. although I redid it so I'm not entirely sure what I got in the retake.. just got an A in the coursework!

Health and Safety- how they need to know what to do in case of an emergency i.e fire incident
and how to use machinery so that they can get straight to work when they start
Not sure if its right but those are the only 2 things that came into my mind...

My mind went completely blank on that question! I put about the Health and Safety Procedures...and I also said a map (so the new employee wouldn't feel lost and intimidated by the new workplace) and a name badge (so they feel welcomed when current workers directly address them)!!! :chicken: Although I have a feeling that those answers were VERY silly! I know a friend said to give the new employee a presentation about the business too! Well done everyone, we survived it!
Is anyone going to do an unofficial mark scheme for this exam?

Oh god after reading your answers for that 6 mark question I feel that I've completely misread the question... I put "show them around the work place" and "introduce them to their future colleages".. Anyone think my answers would get me any marks? :frown:

yeah that would get 6 marks as long as you analysed those two points in some depth after stating them, becauses it said in the case study that the workers felt they did'nt socialise with their fellow employees

the worst 6 marker was the one about bending the steel, what the hell

thats what i put too but i was thrown off because it said items so im not sure...

Because it said 'item' I just assumed it would be physical things! But I'm really unsure! :frown: I just seems like such a silly question, it's totally out the blue! I'm hoping the mark scheme will say that examiners should give marks to any creditable answer :s-smilie:

I didn't even understand wtf the concept of the company was in section A, and I had not been taught about outsourcing, and WHAT WAS THAT DAMN STUFF ABOUT BENDING METAL

overall it was quite good, did everyone else get 20% for the gross profit margin?
Reply 31
I got 20%!

the cost-plus9 marker was okay, I just said the ad's and dis's of it and then talked about another method they could use (competitive pricing) then concluded they should use that, was mainly BS though

thank god some ***** in my class tried telling me it was 80% 45% like wtf?

300-240=60
60/300x100=20% yey

Pheeeeew...hopefully that means it was right! I used the 2011 gross profit margin and worked backwards because I didn't have a clue even with the formula!

I made up the term "flexible pricing" coz I didn't think any pricing methods would suit the business LOL. I said they should price their houses differently depending on the regions, since there are different levels of demand in houses in different regions.. E.g. Low prices should be set in everywhere except the south of England and high prices should be set in the south of England.

Do you think you could have said Price Penetration or Loss Leader as an alternative, or are those a bit extreme?

For the bending metal one I put outsourcing could help increase quality since the current workers are low skilled. Increasing the quality helps the business pass future tests and gain back reputation lost coz of the previous faulty multigym. This helps get trust of customers in them coz trust is especially important for this business since using a faulty multigym coz lead to serious injuries. By gaining trust the business could then increase sales
And yeah 20 is right I'm pretty sure
