Courses with emphasis/consisting of modern history?

Is anyone aware of Uni courses that are either focussed around or have definite room for exploration of modern history? IE 1800 forwards?
Most of them...

That sounds sarcastic but it's not. Most 'History' courses have at least the opportunity to focus on post-1600, some more so than others. You need to check individual course descriptions.

Essex, Southampton, UEA, Bangor, Salford are examples of Unis that run courses specifically in 'Modern History' or 'Contemporary History' - this is usually from mid-1800s or later. Also look at joint subject courses of Politics and History - these tend to focus more on the modern era.

But, 'History' at most Unis does allow you to select units/options within the modern/contemporary era. You might have to do a more general unit in your first year as a compulsory subject but 2nd and 3rd year options will always include specialist stuff post 1800.
