Here's a news article about Chris Hoy saying that he can be proud of being both Sottish and British
http://www.scotsman.com/news/politics/top-stories/scottish-independence-chris-hoy-in-olympic-fears-1-2946192

Chris Hoy
“But it would not be quite as simple as just saying, ‘there is a Scottish athlete, they have won a gold medal, therefore that’s a medal for Scotland’. Most of the athletes have had to move to facilities which are often outwith Scotland.

“I had to move down to Manchester because there was not an indoor facility in Scotland

So his argument to remain in the UK is the fact that the facilities are so ****e in Scotland (whilst in the UK) that he has to move elsewhere to pursue his sport?

Regardless, would this be the same Chris Hoy who is funded by the taxpayer, yet likes to do a bit of tax dodging himself?

I think the online personal attacks show the real side if nationalism.

Is it at all possible for you and your kind to not resort to personal attacks on individuals? You're not really selling your case are you?

You'll also find that Sports is a devolved issue.

Are you part if this lot?

Actually, Yes vote % is increasing and with still just under 500 days to go, looks good - especially the week that's just past, what with the Denis Healey interview and Marageret Curran's subsequent admission about lying about the oil, the Labour party disbanding from the Better Together movement, in-fighting within the tories about EU and Mr Farage's fail in Edinburgh.

Also, when you think of the folks who support Better Together such as the Orange order, BNP, Ukip and the shady donors involved etc..

I'm take it this lot are part of the yes campaign?

'The cringe'?

Well you accused him of a personal attack on Chris Hoy when all he did was link to a Guardian article. If he'd called him a 'big thighed traitor bastard', you might have had a point. But he didn't so you don't.

Your desperate need to out "cybernats" is pretty disturbing. I think the urge to ascribe common and derogatry characteristics to everyone who disagrees with you is a sign of deep insecurity and an inferior intellect. But that's just my opinion.

And again with the name calling.

Is this what we have to look forward under salmond a dream? Dissent will not be tolerated.

I'd say so, but as with most places its usualy the delinquant minority of the country that adopt this belief, you get it a little bit over here too,

Im origionally from england though and have never had any real bother here, or anytime ive been in or through scotland, though I've never been to knife crime capitol of the world, *cough* I mean glasgow, sorry about that lol
I live in the Scottish Highlands, and it's really rural up here. But honestly, no, there isn't. It's more of a friendly rivalry if than anything else. I've never heard any hate crimes being committed against English folk or anti-English Sentiment.

Is there a anti-english sentiment is Scotland?

Considering the way Farage was treated and told to 'go back to England'

As well as

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/5101184.stm

Is this a real issue that people from England should be cautious of?

Yes there is anti- english sentiment, it's been like this for years. There's been news about it but the media doesn't talk about it for whatever reason.

Just speak in a scottish accent when you're there. lol. Esp. Glasgow.

Oh dear. Same can't be said about the Better Together campaign.

Really clutching at straws. So why should we listen to Chris Hoy. Besides winning a few golds for riding a bicycle around in a circles at the London olympics (which went horribly over budget and required dipping into the Scottish lottery funding to balance the books), what else has he offered?
Why is his opinion on Scottish independence worth anyone's time?

Because he's entitled to vote in it?

I didn't call you one 'name' in my post. You're fantasising.

What are you blabbering on about? I'm all for discussion and dissent. I think in our exchanges I've dealt with opposing opnions in a pretty reasonable manner. It's the obvious deception I've taken exception to. And you're allowed to band about lies and mistruths all you like, just as I'm allowed to call you on it.
