Answer to secret question
Hi guys.
I'm trying to re-apply for Student Finance for my 2nd year and I need to enter my mother's personal details but me and my Mum have forgotten the answer to my Mum's answer to her secret question.
Is giving Student Finance a call the only way to get the answer.

You can't do a password reset online without the secret answer. If you call Student Finance they will be able to reset both the secret answer and password. It has to be your mum who calls, they won't let you through the telephone security validation on her behalf.
As a returning student your optimal application date is 28 June rather than 31 May, so you might want to wait a few days before calling so you don't have to wait in such a long queue to speak to someone.
