League tables (the Guardian one has just been posted) may give a rough indication of the standard of the courses/universities, but it's far from perfect and should not be a sole source of information. Go to UniStats and you can see the course layout and employment opportunities for students at each university on each course. You can also see which percentage graduated with which grade. That would be how I would pick my university.
