Social work

Okay, hi! So I've been looking at social work degrees and I have a few questions I wondered if you could help me with? so can I specialise in child social work? Can I just be an adoption counsellor/worker or is that just part of being a social worker? And lastly I was wondering what things are involved in being a social worker and studying social work? If anyone could answer these it would help me soooo much! Thanks!

Hi there,

You can specialise in children's social work, yes. You can be an adoption and fostering social worker & as for degrees a good site to use is UCAS, you can do a course search that shows you all of the universities that do Social Work. I am hoping to study Social Work in 2014 so if you are thinking the same then I'm sure we can keep in contact on here for advice and support!

You do a degree in social work and then you can go in to work with children or adults.
