I'm on AQA for French and OCR for Additional Maths (FSMQ)...What about you?

Yeah, I hope statistics won't have to be put into that list either

Ahh! I did my French with edexcel but I empathise wholeheartedly with the FSMQ because I sat that too!

What grade/mark do you think you think you got in it, if you don't mind me asking (Mr M has posted a mark scheme for it)?

People think I'm exaggerating but in the past papers we did I couldn't get above a C. That felt worse than the past papers so I'm not very hopeful :/ could you possibly link me to the unofficial mark scheme please? It will be interesting to see if I remember my answers...

How do you think you did?

Well, I didn't manage to finish, but I thought that exam paper was so much more different to the past papers :frown:

Mymaths is quite useful...But I found it MUCH MORE useful to do the past papers from the current syllabus and the old one

Old syllabus:

Current syllabus:

How was the AQA French exam, just out of curiosity? I did AQA German and it was a nightmare.

It seems all of the major exam boards issued difficult languages papers. Did you find the listening or reading paper hardest?

That it was. The reading was better than listening to me. You?

I would agree.

I thought both were equally terrible... the topics that come up are so random, like in the higher reading we had about what time of year people like to buy christmas presents. What does that have to do with anything?

Anyway, back to stats.. Any ideas on what could come up? I think it might be a more difficult paper, as 2012 was a fairly okay paper.

Quality Assurance has not come up on the new spec yet, so I think that's possible.

There's loads of different types of graphs/charts that I haven't seen, e.g. cumulative frequency step polygons, frequency polygons, population pyramids, and pictograms (even though thats more likely to be foundation). Histograms and cumulative frequency almost always come up, so I've got a feeling that they may not for once.

Interdecile/percentile range has never come up it's always interquartile, so they may put that in.

And I've got a bad feeling we might see a tree diagram, and I absolutely loathe them.
Are you guys on about edexcel or AQA :s-smilie:

I do Edexcel, I don't know about everyone else
(edited 10 years ago)
Also does anyone have an idea on how to draw a LOBF when only the gradient and the mean points are given?

This thread's for Edexcel Statistics

We kind of went off topic before and talked about our listening/reading exams for French/German (AQA in particular) if that's what confused you
