How did you all get on last week??

Posted from TSR Mobile
Hey,

It went well. It was boiling in coveralls on top of clothes in the hottest week of the year, other than that it wasn't too bad. Passed fitness and not worried about functional skills. Just final interview to get out the way! Did you put your bedding in your new BB?

P.S Any news on final interview? Have you handed in your fuel claim to AFCO?
Well done! My final interview is 19th August. I sent my fuel claim form off on Thursday

Great! How long did it take for you to find out your date for final interview? Are there any details in the letter about what to expect? It's probably the area of selection I've seen the least information on.

I'm in Thompson too. Can't wait to get started, I thought PRTC was pretty good to give you an insight into BRTC. Just ordered my name tags!
I rang up a week and half after prtc and she told me I'd passed and gave me the date. But I haven't received my letter yet. Apparently it differs from AFCO to AFCO. Some people have said its just a formality with not much being asked, whereas I know of people at Liverpool that have failed it, and some that have been asked about everything including weapons etc. I'd just go over everything from the selection interview and have some definite answers to why you want to join and positives/negatives, and you should be fine.

Yeah I agree prtc is a good insight!

I'm going in today to hand in my fuel claim, i'll enquire about the interview. On my PRTC a guy had failed his interview the year previously and had only just got back to PRTC. That would be a nightmare!
Oh god that's bad! Surely he mustn't have prepared?

Not sure. He didn't expand, said it was a new OC AFCO who grilled him for 30 mins!

Good motivation to do extra interview prep. You got your letter yet?
Ahh I see. Yeah I got my letter, and my sister passed her Final Interview on Monday. She said it was fine
Awesome, what does it say on the letter as to what you will be asked about?

I'm not too worried, just want to get it done .
It says nothing (in regards to the interview) apart from the date and time LOL. Just go over everything from the Selection Interview and you will be fine.

Yeah I'm exactly the same! You not got your date yet?
Nice! Very useful. Oh well prepare, prepare, prepare!

Nope, not heard anything though I've not even been back a week yet and they said functional skills results can take up to 2 weeks.

Going to chase up AFCO next Monday I think. How long did it take for you to hear anything?
I called them up a week and a half after I got back. Ring them Monday

Hi guys, got my medical tomorrow and going for firefighter, I've been told if I pass my medical I go to manston for 3 days where I do my fitness assessments and second interview then I'm presuming if I pass that ill have start dates for basic?!

Hey!

I'm not too sure how the firefighter specialist selection process differs but I also had to have a specialist interview for Intelligence.

My timeline was as follows;

Medical
Fitness Test
Specialist Interview
PRTC
Final Interview
Start Date

You should get your potential start date at the same time as you get your PRTC date.

Hope this helps!

Hi Sarah so once I've done my second interview and fitness ill receive my dates for training course and start dates, or is my prtc at manston in the 3 days I go for, I'm not too sure! Haha

Thanks, cam!

Your specialist interview is completely separate from the 4 day PRTC at Halton.

Hey Sarah

Had your final interview yet? If so, how was it? What did it entail?
