Can any washing machine/dryer be stopped?

I've noticed that some washing machines cannot be stopped when you start the cycle.

What would happen if you HAD to stop it, like your phone or a cat got in?

Never tried it but i would press the power button/door button and see what happens
the manufacturers must have thought at some point this would happen and programmed a procedure accordingly
or could just google it :teeth:

Pause it or turn it off and use the emergency door release so yes

My washing machine can be stopped yes but if it has been stopped mid-way through a cycle then the door won't open. It just sits there, stopped, with a stubbornly locked door.

The tumble dryer though can easily be stopped and opened.

Okay so i decided to listen to one of those dodgy beauty gurus on YouTube and wash my brushes in the washing machine,but being the ****ing idiot I am I forgot to tie the pillow case I put them in.so now I lay in bed listening to the haunting sound of my brushes crashing against my stubborn washing machine that does NOT want to open...
