Please help me (A Levels, Engineering)

I have taken Maths, Physics, Computer Studies and Chemistry for my A levels ... I plan on doing Engineering .. but I am still unsure what field to choose .. Is this combination good ?

Most Engineering courses in any field will only require you to have Maths and Physics to A2. So I'd say you've got a good combination. Although ideally for Engineering you could have done Further Maths instead of Computer Studies. Is it possible to change this still? If not it won't matter unless you're applying to the top universities. Let me know if you've any more questions I can help with

Great choice, however if I were you I'd switch Computer Studies for Further Maths. Further Maths is looked upon very strongly for engineering and will be of more advantage in my opinion. Only advice I have to give really, I took Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Physics and looking into engineering and I'm certainly glad I did as I believe with the agreement of others it's a great combination for subject (perhaps even best suited of all) for engineering

It depends on which engineering course you'd like to do really. These subjects do seem adequate for most engineering courses. However I know some fields and universities that require additional mathematics as well. Try and see different uni websites and do some research into some fields to know for yourself.

If you know you want to go into engineering but don't know which field exactly, you could settle for mechanical engineering as that is the most general.

That's what I've applied for at uni (with Maths, Further Maths and Chemistry at A2) and I hope to get a job in the nuclear industry. Yet if that doesn't work out straight away, I have the option of applying for graduate schemes at other places like Rolls Royce to hopefully build up the experience.

Thanku so so so much .. I'm definitely dropping computers and taking up further maths... But just one question, I've never did further maths at O levels, will this be an obstacle ? :-/

Thanks so much, but I know absolutely NOTHING about further maths, I never did it at O levels. Im not sure about the A level system, I still have 2 months to start, is it a continuation of the O level subject, or can someone like me start from scratch? Thanks again

If you did regular maths at O level then you should be fine I think  I don't really know much about the O level system haha  But I wouldn't imagine that it's a continuation of the O level and you should be able to pick it up fine without the O level. Plus if you're doing Maths at A level then you should be as qualified to do Further Maths as anyone else.

Isn't this what you want to sit, A Levels? Further Maths A Level just requires Maths A Level, I don't know what you mean by an obstacle. Sorry if you could clarify what you meant more, I could probably be of more help

Actually, what I'm trying to say is, I have never done further maths before. So what if I don't know anything they are talking about in class. At o levels I did regular maths ..
