I cant remembber. Anyway guys, weird hard paper = low grade boundaries. This year will probably be the lowest they have ever been set aswell, as unit 2 and 3 were outrageous compared to past papers. Im crapping myself about maths on the other hand which I think I screwed up, and need an A in to do Econ at uni.

how low can they be. people who done question 1 on unit 3 done really good, and those who did question 1 and 2 on unit 2 found it easy. i lose both ways and i done wrong question and i paid the price!

What are you predicted? Why do you reckon you have lost so many marks?

well on unit 2 the last question 0 marks. the income distribution 0 marks. and there were some others which i think i got maybe 1 marks or not even that.

unit 3 - last question was something else. No one knows if the information they used was right or not. again the oncome distribution one. and the others werent done properly either.

prediction is to keep my B from unit 1, but i think ill finsh the year on an E after these 2

unit 3 is 120 marks and the paper was a killer and unit 2 teacher was telling us to aim for 90/90  .

If the worst happens and your Unit 3 marks are bad don't kill yourself, because after studying Unit 6, most of the people in my class retook it in January and improved dramatically from last June. Unit 6 is an extension of Unit 3, and once you have studied even half of it, your economic skills increase dramatically and you will find the Unit 3 exam a doddle, no matter how impossible it looks now! Have faith in yourselves.
my thoughts exactly! after doing a2 economics, 15 or 8 markers becoming bread and butter. any questions with less seem retarded. that being said i think i ****ed up my unit 3 anyways! lol! now i have unit 4 AND unit 5 on the same day -_-. serves me right for declining to do unit 4 in january. it's going to be one long wednesday!

btw can anyone shed any insight into the the 8 marker for question 1 in unit 3? something along the lines of "what would be the difference of the impact on AD and eq output in the USA from the UK"...i hated that one.

Thats a shocker now - really annoyed me. I was confident of getting an A after the exam but i think i got all of the 12 marker question wrong in question 2 on unit 2. It didnt say whether it wanted to show the positive externalities of wind power farms or the negative externalities of fossil fuels.

why couldnt it have been like question 1 where they actually mentioned positive externalities in teh question. That a possible 12 marks lost! meaning i went from thinking i got 30/40 to 22/40.

Overall i think i got 90/90 for unit 1 because i found that easy.

Now i think i got like 40/90 for unit 2 and about 100/120 for unit 3 - so i just miss my A

i think you could have included both graphs for positive and negative externalities. through the graph of negative externalities, you could show that it will maximise social welfare, by cutting externalities like pollution and etc. through positive externalities, you could show that building wind farms would create jobs and etc. however the negative externalities was more important, because you could took about the target for kyoto protocol.yer i agree the questions were worded in a really strange way. unit 3 the last question didnt even tell u whether they are raising interest rates or decreasing them. dont worry really,i go to a grammar school and like 90% of us are predicted As, but most of the people think they ****ed up. so the grade boundaries will be much lower, thats what my economics teacher told me.

The same question came up on unit 3, i talked about the govt spending more than it was earning therefore it might have to raise interest rates later and then i wrote about the possible consequences but i'm not sure if this is right?
    any ideas people?
Oh i see that's quite a good idea. I think i flopped that question but never mind :p:

Ive been getting straight A's for my Unit 6 Economics but my friend.. this unit 3 exam was a nasty one. I was acing every past paper, and suddenly this one comes along with vague questions and hard data sets. thank god i already have an A in unit 3 from last year..

Yeh... Unit 4 and 5 on the same day on wednesday... and we (heh.. its just 2 people taking economics) have to be under supervision for 1 hour after the exam... so I don't tell you guys in the UK what's on the exam... like it will help anyway.

the changes question was sooooo stupid! i jsut made a list of every change mentioned then covered each one in detail then drew diagrams for each etc, so hopefully ONE change i mentioned had something to do with the question. it was a very bad exam question tho and i reckon the examiners will realise they ****ed up when they mark it! it so wasnt our fault :p:
