How long will student finance fund you?

Is it 4 years?

After the 4 years, would you still be eligible for student grants, or are these also only available for 4 years?

(I've done year of a degree, but want to change to a different degree (midwifery), however unsure if I'm going to finish this degree first, the funding I'll receive will obviously be something to think about).

It's length of course +1 - previous years study.

Hang on, so in this case (if I got onto midwifery) it's be 3 + 1 - 1 (the length I've spent on Zoology) = 3?

NHS-funded courses are an exception to the formula given above. With midwifery, you could find that the NHS funding will kick in, rather than Student Finance.
