Hi Guys,

Hope you don't mind if I join this thread?

I'm not sure If I count as a "mature" student, as I'm not over 25 - but I'm counted as one by the universities because I have a child and I'm 22, living with a partner and been out of education since 2009.

Wee bit of background, I left school in 2009 With AAAABBC in highers.

Started Medical Biochemistry at Glasgow University after narrowly missing a place on the Dentistry course at Glasgow, but decided it wasn't for me and dropped out - a decision I now regret!

I went to work full time and fell pregnant at the age of 19, by my partner of 5 years. We moved in together in June 2011, and our daughter was born in october 2011.

Due to the cost of childcare etc I have had to wait until my boyfriend graduated from University before I could go back. He graduated this year, so here I am!

I am planning on doing HNC Applied Sciences this year (fingers crossed I get in!) and applying to study Anatomy at Glasgow University in 2014.

I haven't seen this be posted before, but if I duplicate I apologise!!

I thought it would be interesting to see what everyone is applying for and where (your five choices)

maybe when we all get our results it would be fun to look back and see where we go!!

so I am applying for Psychology with Philosophy and my five choices are:

Oxford
Bath
Bristol
Exeter
Southampton/St Andrews
I am applying for physics. My choices are:

Surrey
Southampton
Portsmouth

Those are the only three within reach of my home.

Economics

Queen Mary
SOAS
Royal Holloway

Undecided on the other two, I'd love to go to LSE but seeing as I only have an ACCESS course with majority merits and will be teaching myself A levels in one year (thus no AS results to show) my chances of getting offers from those three are slim enough so I probably won't waste an option on LSE.

Anthropology

Oxford Brookes
Brunel
SOAS
Birmingham
Trinity Saint David

It was difficult to choose as not many universities offer Anthropology! Infact, whenever I tell people what I want to study they ask me what Anthropology actually is!

Cardiff is a very good university, it's in wales (which you may think is just a country full of sheep - but it isn't) but Cardiff is very busy! There's great nightlife too, but I think i've been corrupted by watching too much 'The Valleys' on MTV!

I'm actually keen to explore all of the UK, so I don't think poorly of Wales at all. I've read there are plenty of rentals available too, which is a plus!

I live in England so i'm not sure if it's cheaper to rent in Wales than over here. I recommend you look on some websites as some areas of the UK are cheaper than others (if that affects your decision).

I do recommend you visit wales though, the locals are very friendly and nearly everyone speaks English.
