Questions regarding A* grades

Hey all. Got an A overall in Bio and Chem at AS, with a B in Physics!

In light of this I am very tempted to go for the A* in Bio and Chem. My individual unit grades are:

Chemistry F331 - 70/90 UMS - B grade (1 mark off an A! that stung)
Chemistry F332 - 130/150 UMS - A grade
Chemistry F333 - 41/60 UMS - C grade
Biology F211 - 63/90 UMS - B grade
Biology F212 - 137/150 UMS - A grade
Biology F213 - 46/60 UMS - B grade

Q1) To get an A* overall you need an A at AS, as well as over 90% at A2. Does that mean EVERY unit at AS needs to be an A or just overall? I'm worried the big difference between my unit 1s and unit 2s will drag me down.

Q2) Just to double check, the percentages are out of UMS and not raw, right?

Q3) Unrelated, but I was given a mark of 46/60 for Chem F333 by my teacher, but this went down to 41. Is this due to grade boundaries?

Cheers guys

1. No, just 80% overall (e.g., 480/600 UMS).
2. Yes, it's UMS scores that are relevant for the A* criteria, as for all other grades - not raw marks
3. This could be external moderation. Did similar happen for any of your classmates? Your teacher may be able to offer an explanation here.
