Geography or Business & Management Degree

Hi guys,
I will be applying for the 2014 university start and have been unable to make my mind up over the summer as to which degree I want to study. My career goal is to work in a large corporation (preferably in the private sector) and work my way up within the company. I had my heart set on some economics type degree as that is my favourite AS subject but with deep research into the course content I realised the change towards a maths orientated degree, and as I had to work for a B GCSE maths along with despising the subject I am certain I won't enjoy it.

Realising some of the economic, political and social aspects I enjoy comprise the human aspect of geography I thought this may be an option. However I am wary of the career orientation as with every prospectus I have read for 'example graduate jobs' none appeal, e.g. Environmental social researcher or as I have heard often... A teacher. The business and management I have looked into would involve a placement into the line of companies I'm looking but would the degree suffice?

Which degree??

Extra information:
Will be predicted AAB-ABB for A2 (year 14)

I think business and management is a good general degree which would give you a route into a range of career paths, including careers in the City and the big graduate schemes.

In your second and third year there will be the chance to specialise, so if you felt more confident with maths by then you could take some economics modules. Or if you developed an interest in a particular area such as human resources you could start to specialise in this by taking the relevant modules.

Therefore when it comes to applying for jobs you will not just have to say "I got a degree in business and management" but can also talk about the specialist modules you took and how these have made you a good candidate for specialist jobs.

Your grades should be fine for a whole range of good management courses/unis.

If you are aiming for a career in big corporations you will want a lot of good work experience in addition to your degree, so when looking at universities also ask them what sort of work experience opportunities they offer, or consider taking a degree with a year in industry.
