Should I resit unit 1?

Basically, I want to go for As/A*s in my second year. I take Biology, Chemistry, Physics.

Biology overall - 246/300 (A)
-----Biology unit 1: 63/90 UMS
-----Biology unit 2: 137/150 UMS

Chemistry overall - 241/300 (Just an A!)
-----Chemistry unit 1: 70/90 UMS
-----Chemistry unit 2: 130/150 UMS

To put it into perspective - in Biology, I lost nearly twice as many marks in unit 1 compared to unit 2, when there is half the content. Chemistry, I lost the same amount when there is again half the content.

I'm thinking either a) A2 will be WAY too much for me to handle or b) It will just be a breeze, and well worth it since my U1s were where most of my marks were dropped in both subjects.

If I were to only resit one of them, I think Chem would be best, since although fewer marks were lost, the second year is just the first year content in more depth - whereas Bio is almost entirely new content.

Any ideas? Anyone done anything similar?

Cheers!

I mean in my opinion I would resit but only if you think you'll be able to handle the work load. I don't think chem unit 1 should be too bad if you choose to resit as volume wise it doesn't have as much as unit 2

Yeah indeed, I mean unit 4 chem is larger than unit 2 chem so it's probably nothing in comparison. What are the deadlines for resits on OCR?

Honestly I don't know. I reckon your best bet would be to check this with your examinations officer. Presumably you apply for resits when your centre is giving in your other exam entries? Though don't hold me against it, I'm not very sure
