Help me please

I've been offered accommodation through a 3rd party provider for my first year. Its liberty living at birmingham university btw
Problem is that I need a guarantor. And there's absolutely no one in my family who is eligible to be one.
What am I supposed to do now. Is there any way round this? Or am I going to be homeless for my first year? Surely there must be something I can do. :frown:
Can the university act as a guarantor?

If there's absolutely no one, try contacting the accommodation provider and offering to put down a damage deposit and an advance on your rent. Guarantors are typically asked for by landlords or companies renting to people at a high risk of not paying, so if you can prove that's not a problem with you they may waive it. Having said that, you mustn't feel like these guys are your only option - you can rent privately, thousands of students do, and it'll probably cost you less. You should ring your university accommodation people too, they can give you advice.
