I love Angelo Badalamenti's Theme from The Beach. It is not Mozart-era obviously, but still 'classical' per se.

From 0.24 it is pure sex.

For me it's the 3rd movement of Mozart's Linz Symphony.

Gloomy Sunday? Go youtube
Beethoven's 7th Symphony, 4th Movement. Such a rousing finale! Never fails to get my adrenaline pumping! :cool:

A rather melodious piece which I enjoy :biggrin:

Great thread. Here's my 4d.-worth:

Barber, Adagio for Strings (already mentioned in this thread I think). Liked William Orbit's electronic take on it almost as much as the original;
Rachmaninoff, Piano Concerto no.2 - used in Brief Encounter, a 1945 film starring Trevor Howard, Celia Johnson and a lot of steam;
Tallis, Spem in alium - choral work for 40 - count 'em - 40 vocal parts. Listen through good stereo headphones for best results;
Orff, Triumph of Aphrodite - used as backing in The Telephone Box, a Spanish horror short from 1972.

That is awesome.

And even though it ain't classical music (well I don't think it is) I was disappointed not to see this in the OP:

:no:
IMO, not classical, but powerful and spine tingling..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ASj81daun5Q This has been used in Dr who.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kcA7heHGRtY Quite often used as the dramatic music for the X factor. May recognise the powerful ending.
