Uni of Birmingham accommodation

I havent been given any of my choices for accommodation (all on the vale)

I have been given a privae accommodationon liberty court right next to Edgebaston cricket ground and i was wondering if anyone knows what the area is like? Roughly how far is it from the vale and the uni?

From anyones experience is it possible to change to the vale or is that pretty much done now?

The exact same thing happened to me!
It looks like really nice accommodation and is cheapish for an ensuite. Around a 30 minute walk to campus, but there will be a free shuttle service to campus (according to liberty court's website)
I was told last week that there were no other availabilities, but you can put yourself forward in October to move if you're still not happy

im in the same position and i really dont want to go to liberty court :frown: it looks so isolated! apparently you cant go on a waiting list to move unless youre in the university of birmingham accommodation, which liberty court isn't

I lived there in my first year, and it was brilliant. I hadn't applied there - like everyone else I wanted to be on the Vale. It was a great experience though. There are public buses that either go past the uni, or into town, and as mentioned, there'll be a shuttle bus to campus as well.
The shops over the road, and an Aldi around the corner, make it one of the most convenient for getting food.
So yes, it's a little bit further away, but that definitely does not mean you'll miss out. If anything, as a smaller hall it's a more tight-knit group, so has a better community feel.
You'll likely make friends through societies/your course who are in the other halls, but it's not really a big deal about meeting up at different places.

I've been given a place at Libery Court but I don't know what flat or room I'm in? Do they just send it to you or can I find it somewhere?

Did you find yourself socialising in the Vale and the other Uni halls, despite being in private accommodation?

Not really. A lot of my friends came from the hall. I obviously made some through my course and societies that lived elsewhere, but I only ended up at the Vale a couple of times in that first year.

Is that where you'll be staying? I'm considering there after having been sent an e-mail today, saying that I can't have Uni accommodation.

Yeah, I had a look on the website, doesn't seem bad, but called them up this morning, and they said that they are full.

When did you book with them?
