Economics at Uni, slacking GCSEs

I am hoping to take economics at university, but was just wondering the effects of my gcses upon my application to the top universities
(cambridge,ucl,lse ?)

Gcses: 2 a*s 4 a's 4 b's

As : AAAA
economics - 83%
biology - 89%
chemistry - 87%
Maths - 89.3%

For my GCSEs, I was in school for the last two months of year 10 and year 11. However the reason for me not being in school was my fault and was due to an exclusion from a previous school. But having learnt my lesson, I tried changing things around.

What effect will this have upon my application, and with a good personal statement, what are the chances of me getting in to a good university for economics? Is LSE/UCL as competitive as Cambridge?

Also, from experience from your As grades, would it be likely that I do get predicted two A*s from the two 89%s?
