Computer Science or Software Development pathway?

Hello fellow members!

I'm in the process of studying at the Open University, however, I find myself in conflict with choosing the Computer Sci of Software Development pathway.

My overall goal is to develop a career in Software Engineering. However, I wish to leave a number of pathways open to me, these are:

1) Networking
2) AI
3) Systems development/analyst
4) Business Information systems
5) Transport
6) Telecommunications
7) Industry
8) Government
9) Video games design

Overall, the Computer Science pathway seems to be the most appropriate pathway to suit the designation of general job pathways available to me.

However, my main goal is to go into Software Engineering.

I would like to know your opinions and experiences?
