Cameron won: Porn already! being blocked in the UK

Scroll to see replies

Honestly the people getting annoyed about this are just p***ed off that they can't knock one out to porn because they don't pay for their own internet - basically they don't want to embarrass themselves in front of their parents. The reason why there's no outcry is that every adult who has their own internet access and wants to watch porn can and will be able to with minimal hassle - they simply opt out. If I was a parent I would be applauding Cameron for this. I've had porn pop ups etc and while that doesn't really bother me I completely understand why a parent wouldn't want their kid to see it. My little cousin who's ten got shown two girls one cup and was seriously stressed about it and worried by it. It's good that this stuff is blocked as a default, and for those who want to access it all you have to do is opt out, whether you want to watch your normal run of the mill porn or the weirdo stuff.
Well the cheap corner shop down the road from me that sells porn mags to just about anyone will do well at least as a result of this  always look on the bright side .....
Yes!!!!

I want them to block all the porn
****ing cameron. Corroding childhood? When I was a kid we couldn't get enough of it. I don't know where he grew up but when I was a kid we's be over the moon if we found a tatty old porno mag stashed in some bushes or whatever.

I'm gonna miss free porn. As much as I like it, I don't think I like it enough to call my internet provider and ask for it back.

Embarrassing much?

Tbh, I feel like I've moved to ****ing china. We now have a nanny state.

Exactly, the problem here isn't the Cameron it's parents.

Cameron is offering choice to the individual.

Do you want to access porn, do you not? The individual has rights over their own children.

If your porn is being blocked, its not because of the PM, its because your parents have chosen to place that restriction on you.

Take the issue up with your parents.

I can still access all the websites I want as Cameron has granted me choice and preserved my freedoms

No it's blocked by default.

No one is going to want to ask their parents to unblock it.

No parent is going to unblock it, if your mum had unblocked porn what would that suggest to you?

It's effectively a ban.

he might have a high iq, but so does jodie marsh

So what if he went to oxford? or bristol or imperial, i couldnt give a toss

Where are the studies regarding this, moving from a status quo to a restriction should require extensive research

It will not remove child porn, all it will do is require them to use TOR or some other network

Did you know that you can buy cocaine on the internet

AND why not BAN GORE SITES, cmon man, its common sense, videos like 3 guys 1 hammer will actually affect a child or teens psyche, so why arent these banned yet porn is

I therefore have proved that david cameron is an idiot

Most of the people accessing child porn are already doing it via VPNs and/or proxys so if this is the main reason behind the ban, he's a fool.

I'm starting to understand how a ban may be beneficial

>inb4 Everyone in the UK is a terrorist, so CCTV everywhere
>inb4 Everyone online is a pedo
>her der der, let's start our internet censorship wagon with some 'porn' blocks

This David Plebeian, is too worried about online freedom, he wants to impose an online tax with a nice heap of internet censorship, her derr.
It is a pathetically transparent attempt to block all forms of political dissidence. It has nothing to do with pornography whatsoever, it is part of the UK's slow, sad slide into economic decline and authoritarianism.

Founded by Tim Berners-Lee, who would be the richest man in the world if he had chosen to monetise his creation, the World Wide Web is probably as profound an empowerment as any traditional popular revolution down the ages. It may not have made Berners-Lee rich, but it has made the world many, many times richer instead.

Politicians and Bilderberg types know the Internet has massively democratised the diffusion of information. Probably their most pressing concern is how to bring it under control, collect data on the users etc.

Er, aren't animal mating videos often incidental parts of documentaries? I had to look up fish mating videos to get tank parameters to breed some of my cichlids and to know what behaviors they exhibit when mating starts so I could move them to a separate breeding tank at the proper time (and to save the eggs and babies from getting turned into snacks).

Also, I suppose setting up VPNs will be a good source of side income now. o_o

I noticed a few of you have posted replies along the lines of 'Oh just use an anonymous network' , 'just use proxies'. Well I've got news for you, as correct as that is now, how will that be in a few years time when the blockers incorporate measures to disarm those too, as it would be argued 'children could still get around those original measures'
Cameron, I thought it was about protecting children from 'stumbling on it' not actively searching for it in the first place anyway! Remind me about the whole 'innoncence' concept of yours?

Secondly, proxies and external networks don't have anywhere near the kind of speed or versatility that normal connection has, you won't get those kind of download speeds thorough proxies or VPN, why should I have to go through special channels to access certain content on the Internet? Personally I don't think I or anyone else should have to use those to ensure freedom of the Internet!
Glad you can change the settings yourself. I'm the only one in our house who knows a thing about computrrs in our house and I'm the one in charge of all the broadband account passwords and stuff. Heheheeeeeeee

I know all the passwords, but I don't know if it'll send a conformation email or not.
But as I said, I'm on TalkTalk and there's no sign of Home Safe
