Contacting some you haven't seen for a long time

A few years ago I sat next to a girl at a dinner and really liked chatting to her and I thought she liked chatting to me to. About 18 months later I spoke to her briefly at another social event but I haven't seen her since. I recently came across her on FB and I would like to send a message to say hello, although I don't have any high expectations.

Would it seem creepy or weird?
