Google calculator mistake

Hi

When I type i3457789767589765645545 i^{3457789767589765645545} into google calculator it returns -0.832595657 + 0.55388128 i. This is certainly untrue because i raised to any integer power will be either 1, i, -1, or -i. Using a modulo calculator you find the real answer is i. How do I report this to Google as this is a very important matter.

I am sorry if you feel that I was trying to show off. I didn't mean it to look that way :s-smilie:

Your definition of "all" seems a bit off - and the were no plusses when you said "all"

Not showing off? If he has worked that out then I'm sure that he can work out how to email a company as big as Google.

50/50 on this comment.

No reason for anyone to neg/pos comments, but at the same time, what he's identified is no different to finding that, for example, -1^3413513513631 gives a non-real or non-(+/-)1 value. Not sure really why it was posted.

Edit: What I'm trying to say is that it seems like the "i" has been put there to make the comment seem "special".

Thanks

I thought you were just messing around. I didn't realise you were genuinely interested.

You might like to try 1 + 10^15 - 10^15 =

The answer is not 1.

yes there were, there must be a timelag on your side. That's why I said all. I'm not going to say all for no blinking reason. Are you mathematical by any chance, you're most pedantic.
