AS Chemistry How are exams marked?

Hey I just started my AS and I was wondering if you would get full marks for a question if it has been answered properly as in for e.g. 2 valid points for a 2 marker but then you kind of add another sentence (following your first 2 correct points) which is irrelevant to the question.
If its irrelevant to the question then it will be ignored. But if the extra point you made was somewhat connected(an attempt to address the question) but was wrong then 1 mark will be reduced.
If its a correct point then you will get a +1 but still a maximum of 2 marks.

I read the edexcel examiners reports for AS chemistry and almost every year they repeat that:
"Any additional information given should be correct or else you could loose marks"
Like for example :
If the answer was "Copper(II)Sulfate" then simply writing "copper sulfate" will get you the mark. But writing "pink copper sulphate" or "Copper(III)sulfate" would get you 0 marks.

You should read the examiners reports. It really shows how exactly answers are marked.
