I've just arrived here in Purchas Court today. I'm a non-drinker and don't like noisy places but everyone around seem to be the opposite of me
Feel a bit lonely and homesick right now :frown:
I don't mind going to some clubs to socialise but this fresher week seems to be killing me now

Same here. I don't mind clubbing or even drinking (a little). But my neighbors don't even go out, they are like drinking here in the dorm and being really really loud about it.

I am completely in the same boat and would love to do something that does not involve getting drunk and clubbing. Last night I just stayed in and watched a film which didn't really seem like the thing to do during Fresher's and i'm finding it hard to get to know people.

There's also a facebook group that you can join, where people seem to be setting up these kind of meetings all the time. I don't think i'm allowed to post a link to the group but i'm sure you can find it - theres around 2,300 members, so there'll always be someone to talk to or arrange something with. If not, i'm up for meeting with some of you!

I dont mind going to a pub bar for a few, game of pool, have a laugh with mates etc but Im not the sort to just go out and get hammered, atleast not often anyway

I dont really like clubs for similar reason to some others here, loudness etc, I perfer having a laugh/chat/talk over bobbing about in a loud room, dont get me wrong thats ok too its just not for me, unless I can help it lol.
I'm exactly the same - not a big fan of the binge drinking culture and going out very much. I've tried clubbing and hated it, and I don't like beer either.

might jump in this as well  I don't mind drinking or clubbing, I just need quite a long reset period after doing so...plus, it's always nicer with friends rather than complete strangers :colondollar: maybe see some of you soon?! (depends on whether I can shake of a headache that's just come on...blegh)

Are you on campus at the moment? I came at around 4 but didn't see anyone :frown: Was kinda awkward just standing there looking for people from their usernames ha. I was told that we'd be going to a pub quiz later at 7 though, might try again then.

I'm at Parkwood at the mo, trying to stop feeling so gross/ill (why dizziness, why?) not sure if I will be able to make it out tonight (tis a shame). I hope you get to find some of the people on here!

We said half past :frown: Sorry we waited 20 minutes
Same here, not exactly fond of clubbing or drinking. In addition I only arrived today to Lypeatt Court, in 32, theres nearly nobody in my house for some reason. Making me quite a bit homesick and lonely, and having my entire day filled up tomorrow isn't exactly nice. :frown:

We should arrange a meeting where you know for sure who you're meeting e.g i'll be wearing a red hat etc. What times is everyone free, we could arrange to meet somewhere  The people down at keynes were probably the non-drinkers btw, they were having a mini meeting today and a bigger one tommorow night, so definitely come along if you are hoping to meet people as they'll be loads there

If it isn't your cup of tea to be in a big crowd, i was thinking of having a movie night in darwin (my flat) if anyone might be interested?

Maybe... depends on which movies
Will try to go to this Keynes thing - don't mind drinking a bit or in a pub with mates but definitely not one for getting hammered / going to clubs.

Blah freshers week is killing me >< I feel like I haven't really gotten to know anyone because I don't enjoy going out or drinking that much :/ so I haven't really met anyone new :/

Glad some people feel exactly like me! I drink a bit, but this fresher's week has been just a whole different level all I see is people getting hammered with their flatmates, instead of actually socialising and meeting new people (which is what Fresher's should be about).

Is anyone else not going to the Freshers ball?

Just wondering. I'm not a drinker myself, and it'd be nice to hear from similar people

Yeah, I can hear Jessie J's songs downstairs. Not the type of guy to go get wasted and clubbing. I think my roommates are starting to think I'm weird for spending my nights inside in front of my laptop instead of getting drunk and partying.

ugh

Nah, watching some TV-shows on my laptop. More exciting and fun.
Besides, I can hear the music from my room so technically I'm not missing anything.
